Treatment in A Comfortable Environment

The phrase pet surgery might induce anxiety for some people, but the truth is pets often require minor or routine surgical procedures just like many humans. At Blue Lake Animal Hospital, we perform a variety of general surgery procedures right here in our clinic, allowing our pet patients and their owners to receive the treatments they need in a familiar and comfortable environment.

And when your pet needs a more specialized surgical procedure, like knee repair surgery or canine reproductive services, we’ve got you covered there too. Our veterinarians have extensive surgical experience, allowing us to offer procedures not available at most clinics.

We have a fully equipped surgical suite with an array of monitoring devices to maximize the safety of your pet at all times. We monitor heart and respiratory rates, EKG, blood pressure, temperature, and blood oxygen levels while your pet is under anesthesia.

With a complete in-house laboratory, we can perform pre-surgical testing immediately before a procedure to assess anesthetic risks and increase the safety of surgery for your pet. Some of the procedures that our veterinarians perform here include:

Referrals Available When Necessary

While we strive to address all your pets’ medical needs whenever possible, we’ll also let you know if the services of a specialist are recommended. Specific types of surgery such as bone surgery, neuro-surgery, and eye surgery are best performed by veterinarians specifically trained and equipped for these procedures. We maintain a referral network of veterinary surgeons that can provide the best care possible if the need arises. Your pet’s well-being is our top concern and we’ll always be transparent about what we feel is in your animal’s best interests.
