When is Imaging Needed?
Imaging is used to diagnose certain diseases in animals. We may determine your pet needs imaging if the cause of the health problem cannot be externally viewed. Here are a few instances when a pet needs imaging:

Diagnostic imaging is safe and non-invasive. When you visit us at an appointment, we will take you and your pet into a private room to examine the issue. If we order diagnostic imaging, the pet will be moved to a separate room on-site for fast examination. Your comprehension is key, so we take the time to explain what’s wrong and what we can do to get your pet healthy and energetic again.
Kinds of Imaging We Provide
Blue Lake Animal Hospital is dedicated to your utmost satisfaction. We deliver a variety of veterinary services, including several kinds of imaging procedures.
Our imagery services encompass several specialized needs:
- Ultrasonography: This test uses ultrasound pulses to study certain areas of your pet’s body, such as internal tissues and organs. There is no radiation used in ultrasonography, and it doesn’t cause pain.
- X-Rays: We take X-rays to diagnose health problems in almost any part of your pet’s body. An X-ray image helps us understand the kind of injury your pet has, such as a broken bone.
- CT Scans: Sometimes, more complete imaging of soft tissues and bones is needed to diagnose tumors, facilitate fracture repair, and see structures otherwise not easily seen with ultrasound or X-rays. We have partnered with Mobile Veterinary CT to provide on-site, comprehensive CT scans of your pet when needed.
