Starting fresh is exciting, and visiting a new vet is no exception. During the first visit, we aim to make the experience enjoyable both for you and your pet. We will introduce you and your pet to our team and get you comfortable at our office. We’ll discuss your pet’s current and past medical history to get an idea of what we’re dealing with. There will be some paperwork involved, and we’ll learn if you have pet insurance to cover certain procedures. To make the process run smoothly, we’ll transfer medical records from your previous vet.
First impressions matter, and we’re here to exceed your expectations from the moment you and your pet arrive at our office. We want to make the most of each and every visit going forward. Before you come, know what is likely to happen at the initial appointment:
- Basic Testing. We’ll do basic, noninvasive tests on your pet, such as checking its heart rate, blood pressure and weight. We will also do a simple physical examination to check for any abnormalities.
- Meet Our Veterinarians. You’ll meet our friendly office staff and veterinarians. We’ll introduce you and learn about your expectations and possible concerns.
- Begin Wellness Strategy. From the very first appointment, your pet receives individualized attention. If we suspect a health problem from the get-go, we will begin building a preventative strategy to help your pet become as healthy as possible.
It’s normal for your pet to be a bit nervous upon entering our office for the first time since new places can be an overwhelming source of new scents and sights. Know that your pet is in good hands as we treat all patients with empathy.
