Dr. Heather is an esteemed veterinarian on our team. Her knowledge of veterinary science and attention to customer service.

Dr. William is one of our Senior Veterinarians and co-founders. He believes compassion is the key to providing outstanding care and outstanding results.

Dr. Maycie is our associate veterinarian at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. She was raised in West Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University.

Meet Our Staff
Joyce
Joyce is our front operations manager at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. Joyce has worked in the veterinary medical field for over 28 years! She began as an Animal Care Specialist while she served in the United States Army taking care of military dogs for six years. She continued her career as a veterinary assistant, and most recently, as our front operations manager who also willingly lends a hand wherever we need her. Joyce and her husband, Alan, own a hobby farm where they raise rabbits, chickens, ducks and, from time to time, German Shepherd puppies. They have two children and four grandchildren. Thank you, Joyce, for your military service and for being an enthusiastic member of the Blue Lake team!
Marion
Marion is Blue Lake Animal Hospital’s office manager. She fills this role doing a wide variety of tasks with the goal of keeping the clinic running efficiently and smoothly. Her main focus is on helping to create an exceptional environment where patients and the families that love them will have the very best care and experience top customer service. Marion is married to her husband, Howard, and they have 6 children, one of whom is our very own Dr. Will! She and Howard have two beloved dogs and a cat. Outside of work Marion enjoys travelling around Michigan and spending time with family. A fun fact about Marion is that she is a fan of collecting Legos! According to Marion, the best part of working at Blue Lake Animal Hospital are the fantastic staff. She states that it is a true pleasure to work alongside skilled professionals who are passionate about what they do and the patients and families they serve. Blue Lake Animal Hospital is a fast-paced, busy environment and the staff truly come together as a family to not only make the clinic successful, but to welcome our patients and families as part of our family as well.
Mia
Mia is our full-time back operations supervisor at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. Mia brings a lot of experience to the Blue Lake team. She is married to her husband, Scott, and has two children. They also have a fur family that includes a dog and four cats including, “Sen, the princess, and Norman, a talkative goofball!” Mia earned a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology from Grand Valley State University. Her love of animals has led her to work in veterinary medicine for many years. Mia is proficient in navigating the computer system, reviewing our schedule, and managing a myriad of details. She additionally has trained on the job to help as a veterinary assistant when we need an extra pair of hands. Mia enjoys working with people, making friends, and getting to know our clients and patients. A fun fact about Mia is her love for live music and concerts. She has seen the Dave Matthews Band live in-person 18 times!
Lindsey
Lindsey is our full-time veterinary assistant here at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. Lindsey grew up in a family with a brother and sister. Lindsey in her spare time enjoys hiking, running, hanging out with friends and family, and generally being outdoors. She went to Thornapple Kellogg High School, and she joined vet med because she loves animals and caring for them. She likes to give animals a chance to be heard and have a voice. Lindsey likes being a part of the Blue Lake Team because “of the family atmosphere and having people who care and work hard.” A fun fact about Lindsey is that she is has been out of the country 4 times!
Cady
Cady is our veterinary assistant here at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. Cady has three horses named Boogy, Flynn, and Jack. “Boogy is the reason that I love animals! My family has always had animals around in my childhood, but Boogy and my past dog Misty inspired me towards a career in the animal related fields.” Cady grew up in a large family. She has eight siblings and two family dogs named Ruger and Romeo. Cady is going to Baker College and is pursuing her vet nursing degree with the aspiration to become a licensed veterinary technician. Cady likes working with the Blue Lake Team because of the people she works with. A fun fact about Cady is that she loves riding horses bareback, without a saddle.
Angelina
Angelina is our full-time veterinary assistant here at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. Angelina has a King Shepherd called Cleo that she loves spending time with. In her free time, she enjoys taking her dog out to parks, fetch, and for walks. She also enjoys hanging out with her friends and trying new food. Angelina is looking to pursue a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She choose veterinary medicine because she has always had a deep passion for animals. She states: “having a small farm has allowed me to have exposure to various species and breeds. My goal for care, is to make the veterinary space a positive experience for clients and pets.” Angelina enjoys working at Blue Lake because “of the connections and friendships with her team, clients, and pets.” A fun fact about Angelina is that she enjoys snorkeling!
Erika
Erika is our veterinary assistant here at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. Erika is pursuing a degree as a licensed veterinary technician and is currently attending Baker college. “My childhood dog Nala and my love for animals inspires my love for veterinary medicine.” Erika is the third child out of a family of four. She has two cats, two turtles, and a bearded dragon “who are all awesome” in her words. In her free time, she enjoys camping, running/walking, and hanging out with family and friends. Erika enjoys working at Blue Lake Animal Hospital because she feels that “everyone is always super friendly and welcoming, and it feels like a family.” A fun fact about Erika is that she has never considered a different career. “I love my job and helping animals.”
Ashley
Ashley is our veterinary assistant here at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. Ashley has two kittens, Hermes and Calliope, who are in her words, “the biggest snuggle bugs ever!” She has two rabbits, three parakeets, and a fish. Ashley states: “I’ve been growing my personal zoo since I was a kid and always adding new pets to house! Ashley is a recent graduate from Hope College with a degree in biology and is looking to apply to vet school! She previously worked with wildlife at Toucan Rescue Ranch in Costa Rica and later in animal emergency medicine. “Veterinary medicine has always been my calling since I love animals so much, but I fell in love with the science behind vet med after my first dissection class in the 2nd grade.” Ashley enjoys being a part of the Blue Lake team because “I know I’ll always be supported as I continue learning and gaining more confidence in my career. I love the tight knit team that I’ve found myself working with.” A fun fact about Ashley is that she gave a TEDx talk about hands on education based on my 10 years of teaching and helping run Explore Hope summer science camps.

Grace
Grace is one of our veterinary technicians here at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. She has earned her associate’s degree, and is continuing her education to not only be a veterinary technician, but a licensed veterinary technician! While Grace doesn’t have any pets yet, her mother, father, and brother all know how deeply she cares for animals and have encouraged her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Grace appreciates the staff and doctors at Blue Lake Animal Hospital have created a true team environment and are always able to help each other out whenever needed. A fun fact about Grace is that she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia as a baby–something her mother identified after watching her walk sideways. After it was confirmed via x-ray, Grace underwent surgery!
Brooklynn
Brooklynn is one of our veterinary assistants here at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. She is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster program and knew from the age of three that veterinary medicine was the field for her. Brooklynn lives with her Domestic Long Hair cat, Tater Tot, and her two Pitbull mixes named Maddie and Luna. When she isn’t studying, she enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as taking her dogs out for walks. Brooklyn states that the staff and doctors at Blue Lake Animal Hospital truly love what they do, and it shows! She loves their kindness and their commitment to the hospital’s core values. An interesting fact about Brooklyn is that she likes baking sourdough bread and bringing new recipes to life!
Megan
Megan is our new full-time veterinary receptionist here at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. Megan moved to Michigan this summer to relocate closer to both her and her boyfriend’s family. She is the middle of three sisters and is a proud auntie to her nephew! She currently owns a beloved cat named Kohaku, a 10-year-old orange Maine Coon mix whose “curiosity, insatiable appetite, and firey spirit keep me laughing.” She also takes care of her boyfriend’s dog Luna. Luna is a small terrier mix with a big voice. Megan and her boyfriend love playing with luna and taking her for lots of walks.
Quinn
Quinn is one of our part-time receptionists here at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. His love of animals has inspired him to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Quinn is studying biology with a pre-vet at Calvin University! When he isn’t at school, you can find Quinn out on the ice playing a good game of hockey, spending time with his friends, or playing pickleball. Quinn lives with his parents, two brothers, and his Berenedoodle Mabel. Quinn says that the team at Blue Lake Animal Hospital is a very welcoming community and that he is grateful for the chance to get into the veterinary field so early on in his studies. A fun fact about Quinn is that he is an expert at playing the guitar!
Shelby
Shelby is one of our full-time receptionists here at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. She has prior experience working with animals and is continuing her journey in veterinary medicine to help be a voice for those who don’t have one. Shelby grew up an only child and is currently living with her boyfriend and their two cats: Gator and Tator. Gator is a cuddle bug while Tator is a bit of a menace, ensuring that Shelby stays busy. When she isn’t at home enjoying time with her pets or catching up on the latest shows and movies, you can find her building Legos or engaging in retail therapy. Shelby loves that the team at Blue Lake Animal Hospital feels like one big family. An interesting fact about Shelby is that she hasn’t met a single animal she didn’t love–even if the animal isn’t the friendliest!
Maddy
Maddy is one of our part-time receptionists here at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. She earned her bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology and chose to work in veterinary medicine to help animals directly. Maddy enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible; some of her favorite outdoor hobbies include hiking, camping, and horse riding. She also has an 11 year old Pug mix named Bella, who can be a bit of a spoiled diva (but Maddy adores spoiling her). Maddy enjoys how the team at Blue Lake Animal Hospital supports one another and will help each other out without judgement. A fun fact about Maddy is that her favorite game is Magic the Gathering, and she’ll never turn down the chance to read a good book!
