Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Maycie
Dr. Maycie is the newest veterinarian at Blue Lake Animal Hospital. You may recognize her from her externship with the hospital in 2022. She was raised in West Michigan and is excited to be back in the area to practice medicine! Dr. Maycie had worked as a veterinary assistant in small animal practice for several years while pursuing her veterinary education. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in 2018 from Grand Valley State University, where she studied Biology and minored in Chemistry and Classics. After that, she completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University as part of the class of 2023. Go Green!
In her free time you can find her catching up with friends and family. Her family also includes a deaf Boston Terrier named Wilbur. He was supposed to be a foster for a weekend but he’s still with her 7 years later! Dr. Maycie also loves to travel and volunteer abroad to provide veterinary care to underserved areas. So far she’s worked in Mexico, Nicaragua, and Honduras and is looking forward to visiting more countries. She’s excited to be starting her career with the Blue Lake team, and is eager to build relationships with clients and patients!
